<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket gate capable of properly processing a ticket check process relating to transit of a user at a 2-latch transit station by optically reading ticket information printed on a ticket surface. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic ticket gate 1bb for leaving which is installed in a two-latch transit station acquires transit ticket information on a ticket capable of leaving therefrom for transiting a line, and stores the acquired transit ticket information into a storage unit 12. Then transit person passing information on the ticket is output when the ticket which memorizes the transit ticket information is used. An automatic ticket gate 1ab for entering which is installed in the two-latch transit station acquires the transit person passing information output by the automatic ticket gate 1bb for leaving, then stores it into the storage unit 12.
