The invention belongs to the field of network synchronization techniques, especially to a determining technique for the synchronization port of a transparent clock TC equipment. A determining method and device for the synchronization port of the transparent clock equipment are provided by the embodiments of the present invention, and determining the synchronization port of the TC equipment is performed. The method for determining the synchronization port of the transparent clock equipment includes: obtaining the results of the TC equipment port's monitoring of synchronization indication messages; determining, according to said monitoring results, the port which receives the synchronization indication message as the synchronization port. The determining device for the synchronization port of the TC equipment includes: a first obtaining unit, a calculating unit and a first determining unit. Another kind of determining device for the synchronization port of the TC equipment includes: a second obtaining unit and a second determining unit.
