A system and a method for managing software product line based on a component base are provided to operate software product line through a component mode based on a software development methodology. A software product administration module(180) manages the property list of the software product. A software platform administration module(170) manages the list of the component corresponding to the property. A software platform environment setting module(160) sets up environment setting variables of the component corresponding to the property. The environment setting variable and element variable are synchronized to the software asset administration module(110). A component administration module(150) manages the maintenance and change of the component model. A variable element environment setting module(120) manages the synchronize establishment of the element variable and variable element.
