A dead lock device of an electric steering column lock system is provided to improve the security of the system by preventing the unlocking of the steering column when the cover is separated from the housing. A dead lock device of an electric steering column lock system comprises a housing(10) which is fixed to a steering column(16) with one open end, a lock bolt(26) which restricts or releases the steering column with a lock mechanism operating in the housing according to the authentication of the permitted user, a cover(30) detachably combined in the housing, and a spring(32) restricting the movement of the lock bolt from the housing when the cover is separated from the housing.
