The present invention relates to a connecting construction between a pipe (1) and a coupling (5), which pipe comprises an internal lining (2) and a fibre reinforcement layer (3) surrounding the lining. The coupling has a coupling piece (7) having an external clamping surface (9), a sleeve (8) which surrounds the coupling piece and has an internal clamping surface (15) which is shaped in accordance with the external clamping surface of the coupling piece, and also a coupling end interacting with the coupling piece. The fibre reinforcement layer is secured between the coupling piece and the sleeve. The sleeve has a mount (17) which is remote from the coupling end (12) and the internal support surface (25) of which extends so as to widen in the direction away from the coupling end.
