<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a sealant, by which the used sealant can efficiently be separated and recovered into a rubber latex and a liquid component, and the rubber latex and the liquid component separated from the used sealant can simply be treated. <P>SOLUTION: This method for treating the sealant 12 injected into a tire 24 comprises injecting a treating liquid 14 into the tire 24 to mix the treating liquid 14 with the sealant 12 in the tire 24, thus coagulating and solidifying a rubber latex in the sealant 12. Since the used sealant 12 can efficiently be separated into a solid component (rubber latex) and a liquid component in the tire 24, the outward scattering of the sealant 12 and the adhesion of the sealant to a worker, a working facility, and the like before the separation into the solid and liquid components on the detachment of the tire 24 from the rim of a wheel 25 can be prevented.
