MAP MESSAGE CONSTRUCTING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENHANCING MAP COVERAGE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method and an apparatus for comprising a MAP message are provided to reduce error probability of a map message by comprising a sub map by an FEC(Forward Error Correction) block size minimizing the FEC block error rate. A controller(510) determines a map information element recorded in the map of a transmission frame. The controller includes CID information and MCS level information in a map information element. A sub map process unit(520) compares the preset maximum FEC block size with the whole size of map information elements corresponding to MCS level with lowermost channel quality among the map information element. The sub map process unit groups the map information elements determined by a comparison result into the sub map group of the maximum FEC block size. A sub map comprising unit(530) comprises the map information elements of the sub map group to the sub map message.
