<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for knee protection capable of exactly suppressing generation of a knee slide phenomenon and quickly protecting the knees of an occupant, even if the knees are closely arranged. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device includes a folded and stored airbag 66. The airbag 66 includes a knee protection area 68 arranged on an upper end side to protect the knees of the occupant and a shin protection area 69 arranged under the knee protection area 68 to protect the shins of the occupant when completing inflation. The knee protection area 68 is constituted to make gas G for inflation flow into the inside earlier than the shin protection area 69, as an upstream side of gas G for inflation discharged from an inflator. The airbag 66 includes a deployment suppression material 76 for regulating thickness of the shin protection area 69 at an inflation initial stage.
