<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a MOPA light source capable of outputting pulses by wavelength-conversion of pulse light of fundamental light wave using a simple configuration, and suppressing optical output using a simple method when processing is not performed. <P>SOLUTION: The light of fundamental wave output from a seed light source 10 is optically amplified in amplifying optical fibers 41-44. The amplified light of fundamental wave is input to one end of a passive optical fiber 45 and propagated through the passive optical fiber 45. In the passive optical fiber 45, stimulated Raman scattering occurs in the propagation of the fundamental wave. The light of fundamental wave and light of a stimulated Raman scattering component are output from the other end of the passive optical fiber 45. The light output from the passive optical fiber 45 is collimated by a lens 70 and thereafter input to a branching filter 80. The light input to the branching filter 80 is subjected to wavelength separation into light of a stimulated Raman scattering component having a wavelength larger than that of the fundamental wave and light of a wavelength smaller than that of the fundamental wave. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
