PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust in a dust storing container from flowing out of an opening in an indoor unit of an air conditioner with a function of removing dust attached to an air filter. SOLUTION: The indoor unit (3) of the air conditioner (1) includes an indoor fan (21), the air filter (30) for capturing the dust in the air sucked in the indoor fan (21), brush mechanisms (51, 52) for removing the dust attached to the air filter (30), and the dust storing container (60) storing the dust removed from the air filter (30) by the brush mechanisms (51, 52). In the dust storing container (60), the opening (63) in which the brush mechanisms (51, 52) are arranged, is formed. In the dust storing container (60), seal members (45, 46) arranged between a storage space (58) for storing the dust in the dust storing container (60) and the opening (63), and sealing a space between the inner wall surface of the dust storing container (60) and the brush mechanisms (51, 52) are attached.
