PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel mold strain, i.e., Eurotium repens YM-1418 strain belonging to Eurotium repens which is useful for producing moldy dried fishes, and a method for producing the strain. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a novel mold strain, i.e., Eurotium repens YM-1418 strain (accession number NITE P-738) belonging to Eurotium repens being a kind of drought-resistant mold strains, wherein the strain colonizes on an MY20 medium, the central part thereof is dark gray-green in color, the peripheral part thereof is dark yellow-green in color, the strain forms a yellow or orange spherical ascocarp including spherical or subspherical ascospore in the lower layer of colony, many conidial heads are formed in a slightly upper layer from around basal mycelial layer and dark gray-green in color, the mycelia are white or orange in color, and the shape of conidium is columnar or radial. There is also disclosed a method for producing Eurotium repens YM-1418 strain by culturing the microorganism strain on a medium comprising the powder of dried fishes and by separating and gathering the culture material.
