PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus which is user-friendly by providing a means for efficiently storing and displaying similar images. SOLUTION: A photographing apparatus includes: a photographing section for capturing an image through photographing; a storage section for storing the image photographed by the photographing section; and a display section for displaying the image stored in the storage section. The photographing apparatus further includes: an image analyzing section 42 for analyzing the image to extract feature points; and a similar image-determining section for comparing the feature points of the image with feature points of an image stored in the storage section to determine whether or not an image similar to the photographed image is stored in the storage section 60. When the similar image-determining section determines that the image photographed by the photographing section is not stored in the storage section 60, the storage section 60 stores the image photographed by the photographing section.
