PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for reducing an access time to a memory by reducing a required memory amount when the color of a document is a single color. SOLUTION: The image processor for dividing image data into bands, performing various image adjustment processing for making an image legible of each of division parts stored in an image memory in each color component, and forming processed results to be a single image includes an original color determining means for determining color information of the image data, associating the determined color information with the image data to store them in a color information management memory during storing the image data in the image memory, refers to the color information management memory when processing each division part subjected to band division of the image data stored in the image memory, and accesses only an image memory of a predetermined color component designated for a single color when the color information associated with the image data is a single color.
