PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional pressure type rice cooker has a pressure sensor, becomes out of order because a viscous thing gets blocked in this pressure detection part, is easy to cause insanitary environment since the viscous thing enters the pressure detection part of the pressure sensor and is hard to come out, and is easy to result in reduced boiling performance or produce an offensive smell. SOLUTION: In the pressure type rice cooker, since an infrared rays sensor 6 with sufficient response is used in order to measure the temperature of a pan 2 or an inner lid 4, a control device 10 controls a pan heating device 5 so that the temperature of the pan 2 or the inner lid 4 does not go up to more than or equal to a fixed temperature, and thereby it can be maintained at a fixed pressure even if there is no pressure sensor, while the boiling performance can be highly maintained and moreover, a sanitary rice cooker can be provided.
