#CMT# #/CMT# The device (1) has permanent magnetic-linear-contactless-displacement (PLCD) sensors to sense gear switching positions of a switching device that includes a setting piston of a gear controller. An interface (2) transmits evaluation signals of the sensors to a control electronics of the controller, where the interface is a plug connection according to IP6K9K standard. The sensors are arranged in such a manner that their distance to the interface is smaller than a distance between the interface and the switching device. The sensors sense a channel-, lane and split positions. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for sensing a gear switching position and for providing sensor signals for a gear controller utilized for adjusting an electronically controlled gear of motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The interface transmits the evaluation signals of the sensors to the control electronics of the controller, such that the expenditure of connector is reduced, thus reducing the risk of the penetration of dirt and other undesired interferences, and hence reducing the error rate of the device by decrease of external interfaces.
