<p>Provided is a particle beam irradiation device that enlarges a dose distribution of a beam spot while suppressing the reduction of the maximum utilizable range of a charged particle beam. A particle beam irradiation device is provided with a particle beam acceleration means (1), a particle beam transportation means (2), a scanning device comprised of a charged particle beam scanning electromagnet and a scanning electric power source (11), and an irradiation control means (14), wherein the scanning device is provided with a first scanning means (3) that scans with the charged particle beam to form a quasi-enlarged spot and a second scanning means (4) that aligns a position of the quasi-enlarged spot with the target area and scans the position.</p> |
