PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment performing high speed communication, without degradation in the reliability of collision detection. SOLUTION: The communication equipment 1 and 2 are connected to a communication bus 3 in a communicable fashion through the communication bus 3, and communicate using a carrier sensing multiple access/collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) system. Then, the communication equipments 1 and 2 perform collision determining with data transmitted from other communication equipment connected to the communication bus 3, for each bit about data to be transmitted by the own equipment. After data is transmitted to the communication bus 3, the communication equipment 1 and 2 detect an edge of the data on the communication bus 3. After a predetermined delay time has passed since the edge was detected, the communication equipments 1 and 2 obtain data from the communication bus 3 so as to determine collision of data on the communication bus 3.
