PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method for a gypsum mold wherein cost is lower and drying time is short, and further, to provide a drying method for a gypsum mold where the reduction of drying time is possible since surplus water can be removed within a waiting time during going from the production of a gypsum mold to a drying stage thereof. SOLUTION: In the drying method for a gypsum mold used for producing a mold 1 by casting, the gypsum mold and a water absorbable material are contacted, and surplus water in the gypsum mold is moved to the water absorbable material. The water content in the water absorbable material is preferably lower than the water content in the gypsum mold, and the water absorbable material is preferably a dried waste gypsum.
