PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process allowing desalination of a larger amount of seawater with a more compact device than an RO membrane desalination method. SOLUTION: The seawater desalination process includes the processes of extracting salt by adding a temperature responsive polymer to seawater and causing the seawater to form two liquid phases, separating water from the aqueous solution containing the polymer by a reverse osmosis membrane method, and thereafter recycling and reusing the polymer.
