PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint adapted to improve rigidity in the radial direction of a yoke without increasing the plate thickness of the yoke. SOLUTION: The universal joint 10 is formed by connecting a pair of yokes 1A, 1B by a cross-shaped spider 2, inserting a pair of shaft parts 21 of the spider 2 into bearing holes 12 provided in a pair of arms 11, 11 of the respective yokes 1A, 1B, and interposing bearing cups 3 between the respective bearing holes 12 and the shaft parts 21. At least one yoke 1A out of the pair of yokes 1A, 1B is provided with a reinforcing member 4 restraining the pair of arms 11, 11 from extending in the radial direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
