摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a structure of an engine with valve-timing mechanism including a balancing mechanism, capable of attaining reduction in size and weight, while allowing valve phase variation, even immediately just after the start of the engine. SOLUTION: The engine 82 includes the balancing mechanism 88, two timing pulleys 72 and 74, and a planetary gear valve timing variable mechanism 90. The rotational speed of two secondary balancers 48 and 50 constituting the balancing mechanism 88 is twice the rotational speed of a crankshaft 20. Each timing pulley 72, 74 is driven by one balancer 48 of the two secondary balancers 48 and 50 via a transmitting member 76. A sun gear constituting the valve timing variable mechanism 90 is driven synchronously with the timing pulleys 72 and 74; a camshaft is driven synchronously by a carrier supporting a planetary gear; and a ring-gear member is driven by an electric motor 108.
