PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone capable of certainly operating an alarm at a designated time, even when the remaining charge of a battery being a power supply becomes small, and to provide a method of controlling power of the same, and a program. SOLUTION: The mobile phone includes: a timekeeping unit 1 for counting a current time; a schedule alarm 2 for issuing an alarm when the current time counted by the timekeeping unit is set at a preset designated time; a battery 5 functioning as a power supply; a battery remaining charge monitor 6 for monitoring the remaining charge of the battery; and a power control unit 7 for comparing the monitored remaining charge with a preset lower-limit threshold to turn off the power supply when the remaining charge falls below the lower-limit threshold. The lower-limit threshold of the remaining charge is set at electric energy required for starting the schedule alarm 2, and the power control unit 7 turns on the power supply when the current time is set at the alarm time in a power-off state and starts the schedule alarm 2.
