PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having an effective and continuing moisturizing effect. SOLUTION: Biocompatible polymer nanoparticles which contain a moisturizing component and are surface-treated with a hydrophobicizing agent are incorporated into a cosmetic. As the moisturizing component, a ceramide or a ceramide precursor is suitably used and as the hydrophobicizing agent, a silicone is suitably used, and as the biocompatible polymer, a lactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer is suitably used.
