PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and an overdrive compensating method thereof are provided to uniformly improve a response characteristic of a liquid crystal on the entire display of a screen by differently compensating ODC according to the position of a liquid display panel. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit comprises one or more light sources(21A,21B). A liquid crystal display panel(10) is divided into a plurality of blocks. The liquid crystal display panel includes liquid crystal cells. An overdrive compensating unit modulates input data into modulation data. A data driving circuit converts modulation data into an overdrive data voltage and supplies the overdrive data voltage to data lines.
