<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser generating apparatus capable of avoiding damage on an optical component caused by fiber amplifier output light and making quick recovery after detecting abnormal conditions of the fiber amplifier output light. <P>SOLUTION: The laser generating apparatus includes a power supply unit 5 that supplies electric power to a plurality of laser diodes, a seed light source unit 1 that outputs seed light based on first excitation light from a first laser diode, a fiber amplifier unit 3 that outputs a laser beam by providing energy excited by second excitation light from a second laser diode and third excitation light from a third laser diode to seed light for amplification, a beam shielding unit 2 that shields the seed light, a control unit 6 that controls the power supply unit 5 and the beam shielding unit 2, and a beam monitor unit 7 that detects the strength of the output laser beam of the fiber amplifier unit 3, and determines whether there is any abnormal condition.
