<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holographic or optically variable printing material and to provide a method for individually printing or transferring a customized holography or an optically variable image from a holographic or optically variable transfer material to a substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer recording material 10 allowing the production of a customized holographic image includes a multilayer structure on a carrier forming a plurality of panels 20, 22. A portion of the multilayer structure corresponding to a panel 20 includes an embossable layer wherein respective pixels 1, 2, n are configured to reflect incoming light at a predetermined angleα<SB>1</SB>. Respective pixels 1', 2', m' corresponding to adjacent panels are configured to reflect incoming light at a different predetermined angleα<SB>2</SB>.
