PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen processor capable of suppressing power consumption while simplifying user's operation. SOLUTION: The specimen processor is equipped with a measuring instrument 10 for sucking a specimen from a specimen container housing the specimen and processing the sucked specimen. When the measuring instrument 10 is in a resting state, a control part 117 receives the treatment start indication of the specimen not only to release the measuring instrument 10 from the resting state but also to perform the processing of the specimen by the measuring instrument 10. Since the resting state of the measuring instrument 10 is released on the basis of the reception of the start indication of measurement and the measurement of the specimen is performed, a user can smoothly measure the specimen without waiting that the measuring instrument 10 becomes a measurable state.
