PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator for an air conditioning duct easily mountable in an existing air conditioning duct and ensuring the desired ion generation amount. SOLUTION: This ion generator for the air conditioning duct includes an ion generator master unit 2 having a flat plate-type master unit case having an opening in a plane face, a master unit ion generating element mounted inside of the opening of the master unit case and generating positive ions and negative ions from a discharge surface facing from the opening, and a driving circuit received inside the master unit case and driving the master unit ion generating element, a flat plate-shaped slave unit case having an opening in a plane face, and ion generating elements of the slave units 3, 4, 5 disposed inside the opening of the slave unit case and generating positive ions and negative ions from a discharge surface facing from the opening, wherein the ion generating elements of the slave units 3, 4, 5 are connected to the driving circuit of the ion generator master unit 2, and driven by the driving circuit.
