PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unloading assist device capable of easily inverting a universal wheel of a cart when unloading (carrying out) the cart loaded with luggage from a lifting gear such as a working lift and an elevator, and efficiently saving the unloading (carrying-out) work. SOLUTION: The unloading assist device A comprises: an assist device body 1 having a reaction force unit 3 supported by a side wall part 10c of an lifting gear 10, a pressing unit 4 for pressing a cart 16 in the other direction T2, and an advancing/retracting support mechanism 5 for supporting the pressing unit 4 in the transverse direction T in an advancing/retracting manner with respect to the reaction force unit 3, and an expansion/contraction driving mechanism 2 provided between the reaction force unit 3 and the pressing unit 4 to expand/contract the assist device body 1 in the transverse direction T.
