PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a high contrast ratio and a wide-viewing angle for improvement in a response speed and reduction in cost.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer; a first switching element connected to a first gate line and a first data line; a second switching element connected to the first gate line and a second data line; a third switching element connected to a second gate line and the second data line; a fourth switching element connected to the second gate line and a third data line; a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode respectively connected to the first switching element and the second switching element to be separated from each other; and a third pixel electrode and a fourth pixel electrode respectively connected to the third switching element and the fourth switching element to be separated from each other. The first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode form a first liquid crystal capacitor, while the third pixel electrode and the fourth pixel electrode form a second liquid crystal capacitor.
