<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an information processing apparatus capable of reducing the standby power consumed by an external power supply device. <P>SOLUTION: When an AC adapter 122 is taken out from a power connector 20 of a computer 10, the computer 10 transmits by radio a command indicating turning off of a power circuit 201 of the AC adapter 122 via a radio communication device 117 to the AC adapter 122. Thereby, when the AC adapter 122 is taken from the computer 10 for a user to carry and move with the computer 10 to a conference room from his or her won desk, the power circuit 201 in the AC adapter 122 is turned off automatically.
