PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map-printing/reading device enabling a user to identify an object place, when a printed map is read, even if a specific place is not designated in advance. SOLUTION: The map-printing/reading device 10 includes a computer 12, and the computer 12 reads map image data from a map database 20 and displays a map image on a map display area (36) of a map operation GUI (32) of a monitor 16. The computer 12 displays a printing frame (52) on the map image and calculates, on the basis of the longitude and latitude of a reference point read from the map database 20, the longitude and the latitude of the opposing corners of the printing frame. When a printer 22 prints a map, the map image and a coded image wherein the latitude and the longitude of the opposing corners are coded are printed on one sheet of paper. When a scanner 24 reads the map (sheet of paper), the position of a mark given in the map picture is calculated, on the basis of the longitude and latitude of the opposing corners obtained by decoding the coded image.
