PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus, a trigger signal generating apparatus, and a measuring method which can determine the time of the start of gas use and the time of the occurrence of a gas leak while reducing an increase in power consumption. SOLUTION: The gas meter 40 includes: a pressure sensor 42 for outputting an electric signal corresponding to the gas pressure within a flow channel; a trigger signal generation unit 44 for generating a trigger signal when the electric signal input from the pressure sensor 42 exceeds a predetermined output change; and a high-speed measuring unit 43a1 for measuring an object under measurement, which is at least either one of the gas pressure or gas flow within the flow channel, at a measurement interval of a first predetermined time. When the trigger signal is generated by the trigger signal generation unit 44, the high-speed measuring unit 43a1 starts the measurement of the object under measurement upon the generation of the trigger signal.
