PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output mode switch system and method for smoothly performing pan tilt operation while improving image quality of a monitor. SOLUTION: Control equipment 2 transmits an image quality switch command in transmitting a pan tilt command for performing pan operation and tilt operation to a camera 4. A monitor 5 includes a frame memory 52 which temporarily holds a video signal from the camera 4 and switches an image output mode for displaying the video signal from the camera 4 from an "image quality priority" mode using the frame memory 52 to a "motion priority" mode which does not use the frame memory 52 when the image quality switch command transmitted by the control equipment 2 is received. Thus, in performing the pan tilt operation, the pan tilt operation matches the motion of a video on the monitor 5 and the pan tilt operation is smoothly performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
