PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the film thickness of a paint film at low cost, in a noncontact manner. SOLUTION: A camera (imaging section) 13 images the surface of a sample 20 irradiated with illumination light 12 in color. In this case, when a film thickness is measured, installation is made to a position (A), and direct incidence of reflection light 14 of the illumination light 12 to the camera 13 is prevented. As a result, a large part of light detected by the camera 13 becomes a scattered light 15 due to the sample 20 of the illumination light 12. A personal computer (control section) 16 converts intensity of R, G, and B signals to HSV signals having hue h, chroma s, and brightness v. The personal computer 16 calculates a film thickness t of a paint film 22 from values of h, s, and v in the scattered light. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
