The injector has a valve bolt (5) separating a valve chamber (4) from a return chamber (10) by contacting a valve seat (7) provided at a valve plate (1). The valve bolt is movable by operating an actuator unit into an opening position to allow flow of fuel from the valve chamber into the return chamber and to lead an opening movement of a nozzle needle. A bypass (21) radially leads into the valve chamber. An inlet screen is provided at the valve bolt and locks the bypass in the opening position of the valve bolt. The screen is designed as a disk that is implemented as a stamping part.
