Heat source detection apparatus comprising
- a housing including a visually-permeable portion and a visually-impermeable portion,
- a sensor facing outwardly from within the housing, configured in use to project a field of view through the visually-permeable portion of the housing, and
- moving means configured to move the sensor and the housing relative to each other such that in use, the sensor faces the visually-permeable and the visually-impermeable portions of the housing in succession.
