An optical film or sheet for use in a polarizing plate having iodine as a dye or in a liquid crystal display having the polarizing plate. The optical film or sheet is made of a resin containing a triazine compound of general formula (1),
wherein R 1 is a C1-C12 straight chain or branched alkyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, C3-C8 alkenyl, C6-C18 aryl, C7-C18 alkylaryl, or C7-C18 arylalkyl; and R 2 is C1-C8 alkyl or C3-C8 alkenyl. |
