Convention date, June 20, [Classes 59 and 86] A machine for mulling and mixing paste for making' accumulator plates comprises an edge runner in which (a) the pressure of the roller on the pan can be received and scrapers are provided for the pan wall, the roller and the turret (b) the pan is covered and means are provided for supplying cooling air and' exhausting the fumes and dust, and (c) means are provided for supplying a liquid to the mix. (a) The roller 29 is carried by a pivoted arm 21, Fig. 3, furnished with an overhanging projection 25 fitted with an adjusting screw. The arm 21 is carried by a cross shaft 20 which also supports an arm 34 to which is attached a plough 38 which engages the wall of the pan ; a further scraper 42 is supported by springs 39. The turret is scraped by a plough 48 also carried on the arm 34. The roller is cleaned by scrapers 55, 56 mounted on an extension of the arm 21. (b). The pan 14 is covered by. an enclosure 99, Fig. 1, fitted with doors 100 and with a roof 101 having an exhaust pipe 102 and a valved pipe 105 through which the pan may be charged. The inside of the enclosure is fitted with chambers 107, Fig. 8, to which air under pressure is supplied and which are fitted with depending pipes 110'for supplying the air to the region of the material in the pan. (c) A funnel 92, Fig. 3, is provided for feeding liquid, a branch 94 leading the liquid to the material. |
