A receptacle 116 for documents to be shredded receives paper via a chute 114 which prevents the receptacle overfilling. The chute has an opening 110 and an outlet. The mechanism preventing overfilling could be a sensor in the chute, or could be the chutes outlet being blocked by documents already in bin 116. Ideally a lower part 120 of the chute is curved while and upper part 122 is L-shaped; and a space is formed between the two to allow smooth passage of printed matter. The chute could include a shredder or merely convey the media to a bin 116 for storage and later shredding. The opening may be in the front 112 or lid of a cabinet 118 while the receptacle 116 can be in the cabinet below the chute 114. The receptacle may be a plastic or fabric bag or liner.
|
