[Class 49] Grits or groats of oats which, during their production are subjected to dehydration in kilns or drying pans, are intermixed with a solution of carotene and/or vitamin A in a vehicle consisting of a fat or a lipoid solvent in such quantity that the solution is absorbed by the grits or groats. Either before or after the addition of the carolene and/or vitamin the grits or groats are subjected to steam treatment to render the starch more readily soluble. The gribs may also be intermixed with mineral salts, such as precipitated calcium mono-hydrogen orthophosphate. Specification 494,262 is referred to. |
