RAY TRACING CORE AND RAY TRACING CHIP HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A ray tracing core and a ray tracing chip having thereof are provided to efficiently process a ray-box intersection and ray-triangle intersection test. CONSTITUTION: Based on eye ray generation information which includes a screen coordinate value, a ray generating unit(120) creates one or more eye rays. A plurality of traversal & intersection units(130) respectively receives one or more eye rays. The traversal & intersection units have a MIMD(Multiple Instruction stream Multiple Data stream Architecture) structure for checking the existence of a triangle crossed with an inputted eye ray.
