The device (20) has a coupling element (25) i.e. knee lever, connected with a blade guard holder (17) at an end and with a saw arm at another end in a locked state. The lever is formed with three sections (30-32). One of the sections is formed as a bolt that is connected with holes (26, 37, 38) in a toothed wheel of the saw arm at the locked state in a form-fit manner. The coupling element is transferred from the locked state into a released state by a control element (35) i.e. lever. The coupling element has an extender wheel (46) to adjust tolerance between the coupling element and the arm.
