<p>The balloon catheter (1) has hair-like extensions (4) present on a portion of an outward surface of a dilatable area (2) of the device for placing crimps of a stent to be applied. Average diameter (D), average length (L) and average center-to-center distance (P) of the extensions are selected such that the stent is fixed on the surface covered with the extensions by van der Waals forces. The stent is crimped on a balloon surface. The extensions are coated with a polymer with catechol-side groups, where the coating has layer thickness ranging between 5 and 50 nano meters.</p> |
