PURPOSE: A method for scanning a femtocell base station and a femtocell communication system using the method are provided to search only femtocell base stations with high accessibility, thereby minimizing a femtocell base station for handover. CONSTITUTION: When a serving base station exists in a broad cell base station list, a user terminal transmits a search request message to the serving base station(S303). The search request message includes information of the femtocell base stations. The serving base station transmits a search response message in a search section to the user terminal(S305). The user terminal searches connectable femtocell base stations related to the search section(S307). The user terminal transmits a search result message to the serving base station(S309).
