A catheter device for the control of liquid discharge from the urinary bladder, and its use, is described. The catheter device is an elongated flexible tube of elastic material having an inlet opening at a distal end thereof communicating with a discharge conduit of the tube. An elongated inflatable balloon or at least three spaced-apart balloons are secured about the tube spaced from the inlet opening. The balloon retains the catheter at a predetermined position within the urethra while preventing urine to flow about the catheter below the balloons. A plug is removably secured in a discharge end of the discharge conduit for a user person to discharge urine from the bladder.
