Compact inertial sensor

The inertial sensor includes a vibrating element (2) mounted within a cavity (8) which is formed within a test weight. The weight is attached by link elements to the vibrating element (2). The link elements also lie within the cavity. The inertial sensor comprise at least one vibrating element (2) having one end (3) connected to a support (4) and the opposed end (5) connected to a test weight (6). This is articulated on the support (4) by means of at least two link elements (7). The test weight (6) comprises a cavity (8) within which are lodged both the vibrating element (2) and a part of the support which is adjacent to the vibrating element. The link elements (7) are situated within the cavity, surrounding the point of attachment to the support (4). The link elements are arranged to lie perpendicular to the vibrating element (2).
