PURPOSE: An improved answer holding service method and a system thereof are provided to clearly notify a response holding situation by providing a confirmation tone and a custom announcement continuously to an originator and a receiver after a default time. CONSTITUTION: According to a response reservation request, a receiving exchanger requests a response reservation call from a service server(S604). An SCP(Service Control Point) detects an improved response reservation service identifier depending on the response holding request information(S606). Based on the improved response holding service identifier, a custom announcement and a confirmation tone which notifies a response reservation status during a set response reservation time are continuously transmitted to a reception terminal(S610).
