<p>526,741. Actuating controllers with auxilary switches; handles. HEATON, F. Feb. 6, 1939. No. 3805. [Class 38(iii)] A controller comprises contacts 27 moved stepby-step by reciprocation of a handle 10 towards and away from the front face of a panel behind which the switch gear is mounted. The handle is first moved against spring bias from its horizontal to a vertical position, to free a member 36 and. then pulled, the energizing circuit for a main contactor being thereby energized and placed under control of an inclining switch 38. By movement of the handle beyond its vertical position the inclining switch is opened and it may be reclosed at will to give inclining control. Further reciprocation of the handle operates through a pawl 20 to move the contact 27 whereby the motor is accelerated, the energizing circuit for the main contactor then being completed through an auxiliary switch on the main contactor so that the inching control is then not available. A stop switch 44 is operated by a knob 11 and in addition to the opening of the main contactor the pawl 21 is operated by a member 31 to release the contacts 27 which return to their initial position, a retaining pawl 29 being simultaneously released. An isolating switch 53, 54 is operated by rotation of a handle 12 which also operates a switch 63 in the control circuit. The handles 12, 10, and the knob 11 are arranged in a horizontal line on the front of the control panel.</p> |
