<p>PURPOSE: A touch screen device using an infrared scanning method is provided to increase accuracy of X/Y location detection without increasing the number of transmitting infrared LEDs and receiving photo transistors. CONSTITUTION: Infrared laser scanners(31,32) are installed in at least two edges of a screen to periodically scan the entire area of the screen. A light guide bar(33~35) is installed on the girth of the screen. Infrared receiving phototransistors(36,37) are installed in the end of the light guide bar. An X/Y decoder(13) calculates X/Y location information and size information of an object contacting a screen using light amount information of an infrared receiving phototransistor and laser beam angel information of the infrared laser scanner.</p> |
